RESEARCH AND PLANNING - Alice In wonderland Teaser Trailer Analysis

Alice In Wonderland

This teaser trailer starts of with showing the audience the main character Alice and shows how she gets into ‘Wonderland’. There are different shots of her running through the fields, then falling down into the rabbit hole, eventually ending up in her fantasy world.

The soundtrack changes from building up the tension whilst Alice in entering this magical world into an enchanted feel once she is there and exploring it. There is a voice over telling the audience about the nature of this 'Wonderland' and how 'mad' Alice had to be to survive it.

This trailer shows many of the different characters along her journey, Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway, two very well known actors. This is an effective way of encouraging people to go watch the film to see their favourite stars in these roles.

There is the use of many different camera shots, at numerous angles and movements which show snippets of the characters in their different locations. This shows the audience an incite into the world and may intrigue them into wanting to discover more.

The editing is kept simple to keep the focus on the short clips from the film. Between each clip there is a fade to black. This keeps the pace of the trailer fast, which entices the audience to become absorbed and interested in the action.

The trailer ends in a quote from the film ‘You’ve got a very important date’. This is a famous quote from the film and creates nostalgia for the viewers. It also says in cinema’s 2010 with the cats eyes as the 0’s, which leaves a memorable image in the viewer’s head.
