Despite being produced in 1994 this film is still seen as extremely popular in 2009. The way in which the trailer is constructed is crafted specifically to appeal to more than just thriller fans.
The use of a child like handwriting to show the producing company's name and the makes of the stars tells the audience that one of the leading rolls of the film is played by a child. The simple background music played throughout is subtle and barely noticeable yet helps to set the scene. The transitions between shots are simple and effective, and are designed to be unnoticeable so as not to detract from the narrative of the film. The music quietens when the key dialogue is played but grows louder imediately after wards so the audience notice the change and reslise the significance of the words which were just spoken. The way the trailer ends on a large explosion which fills the entire screen and then fades to the name of the director which is again writen in that childlike typography, could represent the contrast between the two lead characters, she is small and inoccent and he is intimidating and destructive. This is a very effective teaser trailer.
