I have made a poll on facebook so that I can find out which type of genre the audience feels have the best teaser trailers. Although we have already chosen the genre of our trailer I thought it would be interesting to see what other people think. Creating this poll I think will help our group when we film our teaser trailer as we can look at the typical conventions from the most popular genres and apply them to our trailer. This would help us appeal to a wider audience.
I chose to post the poll on facebook as it is a popular site amongst people of our target audience, therefore I can get the most reliable response. I also thought it would be easier to do than a questionaire as it is less time consuming and this way I can reach more people.
The question I chose to most it under is: Which type of genre produce the best trailers?
I have then listed 6 genre types for the auidence to choose from: Horror
Thriller
Comedy
Romance
Western
Crime
The poll is still on going but so far thrillers have the most votes, romance has the next highest amount of votes. This is brilliant for our group as our trailer is a hybrid genre of romance and thriller. We are continuing to research these genres so that our trailer can look as proffessional as possible.
