I am analysing the teaser trailer to ‘Up’. This is a 44 second trailer, which gives no hint of the storyline away; it simply intrigues the audience to want to know more about the film.
The trailer starts with the sound of wind, along with an image of the bright blue sky, giving the impression of being up high in the sky. After a while a pink balloons is released and floats past the shot. Then again, after a few seconds pass, two more balloons drift past the camera. More blue sky and suddenly millions of balloons float past taking up the whole shot with many vibrant colours.
As these balloons fly past they are seen to be attached to a small, old, yellow house, with an old man standing on the porch, holding onto his Zimmer frame. The whole house flies past the camera, ending the teaser trailer with the same blue sky as the beginning.
