EVALUATION ~ Wider Audience feedback

One of the tasks which we have been along with the audio commentary of our trailer (which Rach is organising) it was suggested that we find some extra audience feed back to our trailer; this is the task which I have chosen. I have been researching feedback from our teaser trailer in the hope of being able to learn how our trailer could have been improved, and what its strongest aspects are.

I have gathered the following information...

Audience member one:

How does our trailer remind you of others you have seen?
The captions really remind me of some other trailers I have seen, I think its really clever how they sort of flash onto the screen in between the movie clips, and I think the music is really typical of a thriller trailer, its a good indicator of the genre.
What do you think are the strengths of our trailer?
This trailer really makes me want to watch the film, it kind of keeps you hooked, the camera angles were good and the music fits the theme very well.
What do you think are the weaknesses of our trailer?
The only weakness I can think of is just that its too long for a teaser trailer.

Audience member two:

How does our trailer remind you of others you have seen?
The use of the editing transitions made it look very professional, and also the other effects such as the colour contrasting etc.
What do you think are the strengths of our trailer?
I think the best bit is the way you matched the music up to the clips, like the knife bit, it looks really good.
What do you think are the weaknesses of our trailer?
The colour contrast could have been done better in the flash backs, because it makes the quality look bad, but i know that wasn't your fault it was just the programme you used.

Audience member three:

How does our trailer remind you of others you have seen?
The trailer reminded me of other thriller trailers with the same type of music and the bits with writing looked very professional, I thought the beginning with working title made it look just like other working title films.
What do you think are the strengths of our trailer?
The strengths of the trailer are how well the music worked with the shots building up tension at just the right moments. I also thought the writing shots with the black background and writing set a very good tone that ran throughout the trailer. I thought the background voice that was put over the top of the trailer worked really well making it sound like he was really near the person watching the trailer leading to a creepy effect that you wanted for a thriller film.
What do you think are the weaknesses of our trailer?
The weaknesses of the trailer could be that the fast moving shots could be confusing and you do have to concentrate to watch it, maybe another weakness could be that one shot was filmed in the school so it seemed only slightly out of place.

Audience member four:

How does our trailer remind you of others you have seen?
Good Suspense at the end...Leaves you thinking whats going to happen next!!!
What do you think are the strengths of our trailer?
The music fits in well with each scene, gives an eerie feeling about the film! The dip to white is quite funky :)
What do you think are the weaknesses of our trailer?
I think the Dip-to-White could maybe be a little bit more obvious between the flashback scenes
