RESEARCH & PLANNING - The Mummy Film Poster Analysis

From this poster you can see how it is designed to attract its target audience. The picture conveys that it is going to an action adventure. It shows the location, which is highly recognisable as the Egyptian pyramids. The scary face in the dusty sky, represents the action of the antagonist in this film. The title of the film in the largest text on the page making it stand out and eye catching. The 'M' in the middle of 'Mummy' is highlighted as if it is the opening to gold or treasure. This represents the adventure of the films genre.

It has a tag line of 'the sands will part, the heavens will part, the power will be unleashed.' This is very telling that a huge event will be undertaken throughout this film. It shows that there will be a race between the good vs evil to unleash this power.

The release date is shown underneath, so that the audience knows when they can go and see this film in the cinema.

This poster is different in the way in which it doesn't emphasise the USP, such as the actors names, or a mention of the director. At the bottom of the poster, very small, there is the studio production logos.
