RESEARCH AND PLANNING - Analysis of our Photos

Below it can be seen that Rachel has posted the photos which I previously mentioned that we had found for our poster and our magazine cover. As she mentioned, we have decided on the first image ...

... as the main focus of the poster. We chose this image as in the photo he has just the right inclination of the head which i had been visualising for the image of the poster which i had in my mind. His face is also shown very faintly with a dark and light side, which will hopefully make the editing of it easier when we edit it to make it more dramatic. We plan to darken the background, or maybe even cut out the image altogether to put on a different background, and also edit out the bow tie, possibly leaving in the shirt collar, but we may make the shirt black, even though the image will hopefully be dark enough that this part wont show anyway, as it would look best if the main focus is his face. We shall need to make a decision of where abouts we want to position the knife below his face, whether we want it covering his mouth or just below, we plan to experiment once we are using photo shop next lesson in order to discover what looks the best. We will also crop the photo so it will only show his head and a small part of his shoulders which will be faded into the darkness.

This is the photo we will possibly using for the magazine cover ...

... It is a clear close up and the expression is just right. He looks serious, and the non-committal expression creates unease as you cannot tell what he is thinking. We would possibly move the image further to the right hand side of the magazine in order to have captions of other articles down the side. However, the title would possibly be shown across the top of the image, overlapping.

Lucy :)
