RESEARCH & PLANNING - Avatar Poster Analysis

This is the Avatar teaser poster. As you can see it gives no hint of the narrative, it is just simply there to draw the audience in and make them curious about the film. The only text on the poster is the title of the film and the director's previous work. As you can see the image on this poster indicated the genre of the film, showing that it is science-fictional. This is shown by the blue character. She looks very mysterious, half in the dark and glittery stars on her face, centralised around her key facial features. Her eye is very eye catching as it is the brightest feature on the poster. In the corner of the page is the films website address, allowing the viewers to find out more information about this film. This poster is very simple and is released before the main poster, which would give away more detail about the film, whilst using USP's to attract the wider audience.
