RESEARCH AND PLANNING - Remember me Poster analysis

Both these posters are extremely different from one another, however they seem to portray the same image of the film. The poster shown above is shown mainly in black and white with only the colour red interjected in the title, just like and old fashioned printed book. This nostalgia is reflected in the way the poster in curled at the edges, suggesting it has been up for a while, linking back to the title "Remember me", which implies and long period of time has passed.
The image is simple but effective, an indicator of genre, as the couple suggests it is a romance, and also an indicator of target audience, as the characters are teenagers or in their early twenties. All the information is displayed at the top of the poster, and the credits are shown in a faint, small font to make them discrete. The tag line shown below the title is bold and in contrast with the background of a city beside a harbour, a possible indicator of the setting of the story. The line "live in the moments" is also a suggestion of the narrative, telling the audience that the couple may not have long together, leaving unanswered questions and so a desire to see the film.

This poster shown above is another version of the advertisement for "Remember me". Although they appear to be very different they both put across the message that this is a love story and both show the two main characters and the setting of the film. However, this second poster is shown in a much more cheerful light, with the majority of the image being shown in sky blue. The credits and release date are shown as the bottom of the poster, and the main piece of information, other than the title is the tag line, shown in a clear font above the image, standing out against the empty blue sky. The way in which the male character on the poster is staring directly at the audience whilst the other is looking away could be an indicator that her is the main character, this helps the audience to understand more about the film, and also possibly helps them to connect with the character, as the way he stare straight ahead as though he has nothing to hide could be a suggestion of honestly.
