RESEARCH & PLANNING - tag lines on posters of the thriller genre

These are posters for thriller films which include tag lines:

This is the poster for sleeping with the enemy, the tag line for this poster is: She is a stranger in a small town. She changed her name. Her looks. Her life. All to escape the most dangerous man she's ever met. Her husband.

I think this tag line is effective as if give the audience an idea of the narrative of the film, they know that the person Julia Roberts is running away from is her husband and that he is dangerous, this also gives them the idea that the film is of the thriller genre.

This is a poster for the film Secret window starring Johnny Depp, the tag line for this poster is: Some windows should never be opened.

This tag line links with the title of the film, secret window, it could be that they are not talking about can actually window but instead a part of someones mind.
This is a poster for the film Bonnie and Clyde, the tag line on this poster is: They're young...they're in love...and they kill people.

The poster shows this mix of genre as well as the tag line, the poster shows a young couple, laughing in a car, the picture is pink, all these things point to young love, however there are bullet holes in the left side of the picture. This tells the audience that there will be violence in the film even before they read the tag line. Many people will also be familiar with the Bonnie and Clyde story.
This is a poster for Dial M for murder, a film by Alfred Hitchcock, the tag line for this film is: ...Is that you darling?

I think this is an effective tag line as it links in with the title of the film, it if as if someone has just answered the phone and that they are trying to work out who is on the other line.
This is a poster for the action thriller, Dirty Harry starring Clint Eastwood. The Tag line for this film was: Detective Harry Callahan. He doesn't break murder cases. He smashes them.
The tag line looks as if it has been shot out what the audience will assume to be Detective Harry Callahan or Dirty Harry, the tag line is affective as it shows that the film is about a cop and therefore will be crime drama. The poster must of helped the film become successful as after this film there has been four sequels! The sequels have no tag line but each one has Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry in...(name of film) this shows how successful Dirty Harry was that all the need to do is mention the name and then they don't need a tag line to attract the audience to the film.
